The exhibition brings together the mosaic works of young artists of the Academy's Mosaic Biennium that were inspired by the work by Alberto Burri from a private collection. The interest in the precious matter of gold - already present in the poetic world of the artist in his exploration of the poverty of the sacks in the fifties - in the nineties became a dominant presence as the counterpoint to black. 

Over the last year, the young artists looked at gold in relation to their different individual poetics, as well as the imminent touch of the charm of this element dominant in the extraordinary mosaic heritage of the city linked to its Late Antique and Byzantine past.
