The second edition of RavennaMosaico, the first International Festival of Contemporary Mosaic, has successfully completed 20 November 2011. The Festival is presented as a showcase of the best contemporary productions and offered insights on the vocation of the city, in the light of the candidacy of Ravenna to the European Capital of Culture for 2019. The event involved the whole city and cultural institutions in a program dedicated to contemporary mosaic art, offering to visitors, in the most evocative of the historic center, exhibitions, meetings, conferences, workshops and tours. The exhibition, presented in beautiful displays, works better than a jury of experts selected from 200 applications.
The prestigious International Festival RavennaMosaico remain visible to the public, until 2012, the exhibitions at the National Museum of Ravenna and at the Complex of San Vitale.
The halls of the Museum host: The Neonian Baptistery. A look through the designs and materials of the Superintendency of Ravenna, The archaeological adventure of Giuseppe Gerola: from the Aegean to Ravenna, Oneiric Migration. Works by Francesco Bombardi, while in the complex of San Vitale, you can admire the originality of sculptures Davide Rivalta. Presages of Promised Lands.
