The exhibition includes the mosaic works donated by the 8 members of the Mosaici Contemporanei in Antichi Contesti (Contemporary Mosaics in Ancient Settings) project. The project, which is now concluded, had set itself the goal of organizing a series of thematic exhibitions of contemporary mosaic works in evocative locations, such as the Cripta Rasponi and the Giardini Pensili della Provincia. Their aim was to establish a continuous exchange between the ancient art of mosaic and its contemporary expression.
